Teacher Loan Card

Chicago Ridge Library Teacher Loan Cards are available to certified teachers who teach in School District 127 1/2, Our Lady of the Ridge School, and early childhood education day care centers in Chicago Ridge. Teacher Loan Card applications are available at the Library's Front Desk. To receive your card your must show a Photo ID.

 

A Teacher Loan Card will enable you to check out materials which can be used within the classroom, for the benefit of the school and its students. The card is not meant to be used as a personal library card. The materials are for in-class use only and should not be taken home by the students.

 

  • Teacher Loan Cards will be valid for one school year (August through June).
  • Materials can be checked out from Chicago Ridge Public Library for two (2) weeks. They can be renewed with approval by the Youth Services Department.
  • Materials with shortened loan periods cannot be borrowed on a Teacher Loan Card without prior approval from the Library Director or a Department Head.
  • There is a limit of 30 items per card.
  • Teachers are responsible for all material checked out on the Teacher Loan Card ane will be charged for any lost or damaged materials. Current policies regarding loss, damage, and overdue periods will be in effect for materials checked out.
  • The failure to return overdue materials will result in suspension of the Teacher Loan Card.
  • The Teacher Loan Card is not intended to serve in place of a personal library card nor is it intended to provide library service to an employee living in an area untaxed or unserved for library service.
  • Some examples of improper use are: allowing Chicago Ridge Public Library materials to be removed from the classroom and checking out items for personal use.
  • Teacher Loan Cards will give you access to the Library subscription electronic databases. These databases are to be use for teaching purposes.
